News i read today.mmm..just wondering who is Arianna Teoh(click here)? It sound very familiar so i type her name in google and found out oh yes of coz..she is an artist. Here part of the story...

GEORGE TOWN: The bright red and yellow stands put up for the much anticipated, and now cancelled, Kings of Tennis event at the Esplanade here are coming down.Workers were busy taking down everything yesterday, from lights and bleachers to the massive white viewing galleries.Penang Municipal Council president Datuk Zainal Rahim Seman stated the inevitable – the organisers will have to restore the field to its original state or face court action.“The organisers have to repair the grounds or pay us. If not, we intend to see them in court,” he said.Even though event organising chairman Arianna Teoh did not sign the agreement, the council was allowed to let them continue construction work out of good faith because we wanted to support a world-class event,” he said.It is learnt that the council received a letter from state Tourism Development, Culture, Arts and Heritage Committee chairman Danny Law in August requesting the use of the field for the tournament. As the council had plans to upgrade the field during that period, the request was rejected.Last month, Teoh sent a similar request to the council, which was approved by a technical committee on Oct 17.Penang MCA Youth chief Eng Hiap Boon, who visited the site yesterday, accused the state of not acting professionally in the matter.“The state said they only endorsed the event, but we want them to make public the agreement letter signed. This event has been highly publicised over the ESPN channel and the sudden cancellation will affect not only Penang but also the country’s good name,” he added.“I fail to understand how the state could have waived the RM2mil deposit for renting the field and on top of that, offer to waive the RM200,000 rental fee if the event was successful. Is this the standard practice of the state? Who is going to pay for the destruction of this historical field now?”Penang Lawn Tennis Association project coordinator Janet Loo said the association was waiting for a statement from Teoh about the project.“We were helping out with the technical support for the event by supplying the court officials and ball persons. The event would have been very good for Penang tennis and it is such a waste now. Everyone here is disappointed,” she said.It is learnt that Teoh will explain all at a press conference to be called soon.
